ACL rehabilitation refers to the process of recovering from surgery or injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the knee. It involves specific exercises, treatments, and strategies to restore strength, mobility, and function to the knee.
The duration of ACL rehab varies depending on the severity of the injury and the individual’s progress. Typically, it takes 6-9 months to fully recover and return to normal activities or sports.
You should have a minimum of 4 training sessions per week if you want to see progress during recovery.
Your recovery is not based on a timeline, but on goals you need to meet. The ideal period to start running is 4-5 months, but only if you meet all the conditions. The time limit alone should not be your reason to start running

I contacted Milan after the ACL operation during the period when I was returning to sports. I still had a pain while jumping and running. After solving the pain, we started explosiveness and speed exercises and I finally feel like I can fly around the field.

I started training with Milan in 2020. The reason for the start of the cooperation was severe pain in the knee area (jumper’s knee), which we quickly resolved in a period of 6-8 weeks. After that, I returned to handball, but we continued training together to this day. Now I feel better than ever and my career is on a great path.

After my first ACL surgery I didn't take my recovery seriously and neglected my injury for the first 3-4 months. I started training with Milan to try to solve the consequences. We successfully completed the recovery, I returned to sports and unfortunately suffered an injury on the other leg. This time we started recovery on the first day after the operation and I feel a big difference in progress compared to the first reconstruction.
